Owners of a popular security camera were left in disbelief after receiving images from inside other people’s homes instead of their own. One user even claimed to have seen a couple in the nude. The embarrassing mishap affected a small number of customers of the Seattle-based company, Wyze. One shocked user took to Reddit to express their surprise, saying, “Went to check on my cameras and they are all gone be replaced with a new one…and this isn’t mine! Apologies if this is your house/dog…I don’t want it showing up as much as you don’t want it!” Another user shared their unsettling experience, stating, “Mine opened to a naked couple in their home. I’m scared to open it again.” The issue was attributed to a web caching problem and lasted for approximately 30 minutes on Friday. Wyze assured customers that the issue did not affect the app or users who did not log in to view.wyze.com during that time. The company promptly shut down the website for an hour to investigate and resolve the issue. Wyze expressed their commitment to user security and vowed to prevent such incidents in the future. They are currently working to identify affected users. According to a spokesperson, around ten users’ feeds may have been exposed.
