"Unveiling a Disturbing Glitch: Home Security Cameras Offered Unintended Glimpses into Strangers' Homes"

Owners of a popular security camera were left in disbelief after receiving images from inside other people’s homes instead of their own. The embarrassing mishap affected a small number of Wyze customers, according to the Seattle-based company. One shocked user took to Reddit to express their surprise, stating, “Went to check on my cameras and they are all gone be replaced with a new one…and this isn’t mine! Apologies if this is your house/dog…I don’t want it showing up as much as you don’t want it!” Another user reported opening their camera feed to find a naked couple in their home, causing them to feel apprehensive about checking it again. The issue was attributed to a web caching problem and lasted approximately 30 minutes on Friday. Wyze promptly addressed the issue, shutting down the affected web viewer and investigating the matter for about an hour. The company assured customers that the incident did not affect the Wyze app or users who did not log in to view.wyze.com during that time period. Wyze is actively working to prevent similar incidents in the future and is currently identifying affected users.
