"Unveiling a Disturbing Security Cam Glitch: Unauthorized Glimpses into Strangers' Homes"

Owners of a popular security camera were left in disbelief after receiving images from inside other people’s homes instead of their own. According to the Seattle-based firm, a small number of Wyze customers experienced this embarrassing issue. One shocked user took to Reddit to express their surprise, saying, “Went to check on my cameras and they are all gone be replaced with a new one…and this isn’t mine! Apologies if this is your house/dog…..I don’t want it showing up as much as you don’t want it!” Another user reported opening their camera to find a naked couple in their home, stating, “I’m scared to open it again. Disturbing experience honestly because who knows if people were watching me now.” Some customers even noticed that they were able to see into the same homes. Wyze attributed the problem to a “web caching issue” on their web viewer, which lasted for approximately 30 minutes on Friday. The company promptly shut down the web viewer for an hour to investigate and resolve the issue. They assured customers that the problem did not affect the Wyze app or users who did not log in to view.wyze.com during that time period. Wyze emphasized their commitment to user security and stated that they are actively working to prevent similar incidents in the future. They are also working to identify the affected users. A spokesperson for Wyze informed The Verge that around ten users’ feeds may have been exposed.
