A sneaky burglar with a knack for stealing high-value cars has been caught using some high-tech spy gear. Damon Keegan, 33, was nabbed with a radio frequency jamming device, a fancy tool that can block mobile signals. Over the course of a year, Keegan managed to swipe nearly £350,000 worth of luxury vehicles using various sneaky tactics that left homeowners feeling uneasy.
In one incident, Keegan was caught off guard by an alarm in Knutsford and left behind his trusty radio frequency jammer, which later linked him to the crime through DNA evidence. In another escapade in Lymm, he disabled the Wi-Fi to avoid detection by a doorbell camera before breaking into a home to snatch the keys.
Police uncovered a treasure trove of burglary tools at a garage near Keegan’s residence, including lock picking sets, spy cameras, and even a blowtorch. Keegan’s crime spree spanned across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Derbyshire, targeting luxury cars.
After an extensive investigation involving multiple police forces, Keegan was brought to justice and sentenced to 6 years and 11 months in prison. Detective Constable Holden from the Serious Organised Crime Group expressed satisfaction in catching Keegan and bringing him to justice for his intrusive and damaging crimes. Despite Keegan’s efforts to cover his tracks, law enforcement worked tirelessly to ensure he faced the consequences of his actions.
