Police have released security camera footage of a burglar who hit nine houses in one night. Sean Maher, 38, was caught on camera in Bretton, Peterborough last August, stumbling over a wheelbarrow and making off with a stolen mountain bike.
Maher, from Welford Place, Wittering, was sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to multiple counts of attempted burglary, burglary, and vehicle interference. Detective Sergeant Rich Ellison of Cambridgeshire Police described Maher as a repeat offender with a long history of similar crimes dating back to 1999.
“He went on a spree through Bretton one night, trying to break into people’s homes, and unfortunately, he succeeded in two cases,” said Ellison.
