A sneaky burglar with a knack for stealing high-value cars has been caught using some pretty fancy spy gear. Damon Keegan, 33, was nabbed with a radio frequency jamming device, a tool that can block mobile phone and Wi-Fi signals. This tech-savvy thief managed to swipe nearly £350,000 worth of luxury cars over the course of a year.
Keegan’s burglary spree spanned across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Derbyshire, leaving victims feeling uneasy in their own homes. From disconnecting Wi-Fi to breaking into houses, Keegan used various methods to get his hands on those fancy wheels.
But his luck ran out when he was caught red-handed with his burglary kit, including lock picking sets, blank car keys, and even a spy camera. Despite trying to cover his tracks, Keegan was found guilty of multiple charges and sentenced to 6 years and 11 months behind bars.
Detective Constable Holden from the Serious Organised Crime Group had this to say about Keegan’s crimes: “His methods were intrusive and ruinous, often breaking into people’s houses whilst they slept, leaving them unable to get to work or take their children to school when they woke up to see their cars gone and homes tampered with.”
Looks like Keegan’s high-tech heists didn’t pay off in the end!
