Prince Harry is not giving up on his battle with the Home Office for security, despite his recent visits to the UK, according to reports.
The Mail on Sunday has revealed that the Duke will continue with his legal fight after his unsuccessful attempt to appeal the decision earlier this year.
A two-day hearing is scheduled for April, marking the latest development in Harry’s three-year legal dispute with the British government over his UK security. It is said that Harry’s determination stems from his desire to visit the UK more frequently.
Initially seeking a judicial review over the removal of his automatic police protection after leaving the working Royal Family, Harry was granted leave to challenge the High Court judgment in May by the Court of Appeal.
A court official has now confirmed that Harry’s appeal will be heard in London, starting on either April 8 or 9.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward described Harry as “tunnel visioned” and noted that he is known for being “very stubborn.” She expressed concern about the impact of the court case on Harry’s father, stating, “It’s damaging to his father. It’s embarrassing to his father on a more personal level, to think that his own son doesn’t feel safe in the country in his own homeland.”
Harry had full publicly funded protection in the UK before stepping back as a working royal and relocating to California in 2020. He now resides in Montecito with his wife, Meghan, and their children, Archie and Lilibet.
