A suspicious object led to the evacuation of homes in Portadown last night, with Ammunition Technical Officers called to the scene. The Upper Church Lane area was cordoned off and roads near the Seagoe hotel were closed, but the security alert has now ended. Inspector Connolly confirmed that all cordons have been lifted and residents are returning home. He thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the incident and urged anyone with information to contact police.
