"Home Office Seeks Top Leader for Border Security Commander Position"

Home Office Seeks Top Leader for Border Security Commander PositionThe Home Office is on the hunt for a new boss to lead the Border Security Command, with a salary of up to £200,000 on offer.

New home secretary Yvette Cooper has launched the command as part of the government’s efforts to crack down on illegal border crossings. The border security commander will be tasked with tackling threats and will report directly to Cooper.

The ideal candidate for the role is described as “an exceptional leader with senior-level experience” who can handle competing pressures and complexities. Former counter-terrorism chief Neil Basu is reportedly a top contender for the position.

The location of the role is flexible, with frequent travel to London expected. The job also comes with a generous salary and pension contribution.

The Border Security Command was a key part of Labour’s manifesto, aimed at combating criminal smuggling gangs. Cooper has announced an audit of the previous Rwanda scheme in an effort to reclaim some of the money spent.

Applications for the border security commander role close on 4 August. Share this page for more details!
