A recent study has found that over 90 percent of UK home sellers are seeking more security in transactions to prevent fall-throughs. The research from Home Sale Pack revealed that many sellers feel the government is too focused on cost-saving housing initiatives rather than addressing the real issues in the selling process.
When asked about the government’s emphasis on first-time buyers, opinions were split among current sellers. While 49 percent believe too much attention is given to first timers, 51 percent think the balance is right.
The survey, which included 1,039 UK home sellers, also found that the majority of sellers want the government to prioritize security and certainty in the transaction process. Specifically, 93 percent believe more measures should be taken to prevent sales from falling through after an offer has been accepted.
Ruth Beeton, Co-Founder of Home Sale Pack, expressed frustration with the government’s housing policies, stating that there needs to be more focus on improving the transaction process to make homebuying more attractive and affordable for all buyers. She emphasized the importance of addressing inefficiencies in the market to benefit both buyers and sellers.
