"Stay One Step Ahead: Police Encourage Homeowners to Assess Security Measures Amid Recent Burglaries"

Police have been alerted to two burglaries that occurred on Long Lane South on Saturday, August 19, between 1pm and 5pm.

Although separate incidents, in both cases the culprits entered the properties from the rear and made off with cash and jewelry.

The Sandbach Neighbourhood Policing Team, responsible for Middlewich, issued a statement saying: “We want to inform you about two burglaries that happened on Long Lane South on Saturday, August 19.

“The thieves gained entry by breaking in at the back of the two properties, resulting in the theft of money and jewelry.

“We would like to emphasize that the Sandbach Neighbourhood Policing team, which covers both the town center and the surrounding rural area, experiences a very low number of these incidents and this is not a recurring location.

“To ensure this remains an isolated incident, we urge you to review your home security and take sensible precautions such as checking that all premises, vehicles, and alley gates are secure.”

An appeal has been launched for more information to assist with the ongoing investigation.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Police added: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact the force via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting IML-1624747.”
