The BBC recently had a bit of a security hiccup when some files containing personal information of BBC Pension Scheme members were copied from a cloud-based storage service. The files included details like names, National Insurance numbers, dates of birth, and home addresses – but don’t worry, no sensitive info like bank details or passwords were involved.
Luckily, our expert teams have found no evidence that the copied files have been misused, so the Pension Scheme is chugging along as usual. We’re sorry for any worry this may have caused and want to assure you that we’ve beefed up security measures to prevent this from happening again.
If you’re one of the affected members, keep an eye out for an email or letter from us – and remember, if you don’t hear from us, you’re in the clear. And while there’s no specific action you need to take, it’s always good to stay vigilant about your data security.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to the pension service line. Stay safe out there!
