Country Road Group is currently conducting an internal investigation following reports from staff about mishandled complaints of sexual harassment, racism, and bullying by management. The parent company of the group has ordered an investigation into how staff complaints were handled after receiving feedback from employees about their treatment.
A company spokesperson emphasized the seriousness with which they take complaints of harassment, including sexual harassment, stating that they have a zero-tolerance policy for such matters. “It is critically important to us that our workplace is one where all team members feel safe, valued, and included,” the spokesperson said. “We sincerely thank team members for speaking up and raising their concerns.”
In response to media reports about the investigation, the company’s chief executive, Roy Bagattini, sent an email to staff acknowledging the external attention and its potential impact. “The external attention on our company, through these news articles, can be unsettling and comes at a difficult time for yourselves but also for us as a company,” he said.
The investigation is expected to conclude in June.
