Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is not taking any chances when it comes to protecting his family home after his swanky York & Albany Hotel was invaded by squatters. The Kitchen Nightmares star has hired a professional security firm to guard his London residence, with guards and dogs patrolling the property around the clock.
An insider revealed, “The only thing more important to Gordon than his business empire is his family, so he’s not sparing any expense to keep them safe. Seeing the occupation of one of his premises spooked him, and he realized the same fate could befall his family home if he didn’t take extreme precautions. Now he’s decided the security measures — no matter how costly — will stay in place after the refurbishment of the house.”
The York & Albany in Camden, North London, was targeted by six “professional squatters” in April, who barricaded themselves inside and caused damage to the historic building. Despite a long and costly legal battle, lawyers for Gordon Ramsay Holdings International Limited eventually secured a High Court order for the possession of the premises.
While the squatters have since left, Gordon is not taking any chances with the safety of his family. With his wife Tana recently giving birth to their sixth child, son Jesse, the celebrity chef is ensuring that his loved ones are well-protected. A spokeswoman for Gordon declined to comment on the situation.
