CCTV footage has captured the surprising moment when a British mother was knocked out with one punch by a security guard she had confronted for sleeping on the job.
Jane Cox, 37, from Eastbourne, approached the dozing guard at 3.30am at the Modern Home Tower apartment block where she lived in Bangkok, Thailand. The video shows Ms. Cox filming the guard as she wakes him up and scolds him for snoozing on duty, as reported by the Mail Online.
An argument ensued between the two, and the guard, identified as Mohammad Ayan, 27, can be seen walking around from behind the desk and following Ms. Cox outside. The situation escalated into a physical altercation as Ms. Cox shoved the guard from behind and he retaliated with a punch to her face, causing her to fall to the ground.
The incident took place in December 2021, but an arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Ayan in September of last year. Ms. Cox, a mother of one and schoolteacher, has spoken out with her family about the alleged assault, which left her with injuries including a black eye, bruised jaw, and fractured cheekbone. She is calling for further action against the guard.
Ms. Cox’s husband has enlisted lawyers at the CRSJ Foundation to help with their case against Mr. Ayan, emphasizing that more disciplinary action should be taken against the guard who has since left his job.
The family is seeking justice for the incident and have brought attention to the case, calling for further action to be taken against both the employer and Mr. Ayan.
