Prince Harry recently took on the government in a High Court battle over his security while in the UK this week, but unfortunately, he lost. Now, the jaw-dropping cost of his protection has been unveiled.
The actual price tag for keeping the Duke of Sussex safe has been disclosed, and it’s quite hefty for each day he would have spent in the country. A security expert shared with The Mirror the breakdown of costs, from close protection personnel to bulletproof vehicles.
According to the experts, a VIP like Harry requires four Close Protection Personnel and two to three bulletproof SUVs or cars for his security. They meticulously plan his routes, assess threats before public appearances, and provide security at events, all coming at a cost of up to £10,000 a day.
Despite the setback in court, Harry is gearing up to appeal after his request for UK security was turned down. The Duke argued that his US-based security team lacked jurisdiction in Britain to adequately protect him and his family. However, the High Court judge ruled against him, stating that the decision to remove his security was lawful and justified.
During the legal battle, Harry’s lawyers emphasized the importance of state security for him due to the risks he faces. They argued that without proper risk analysis, his protection would be deemed “unlawful and unfair.” Despite the outcome, Harry remains determined to ensure his safety and that of his loved ones.
