The small package may not be the best choice for larger homes as it only includes one contact sensor. Ring gives the option for self- or professional monitoring, and allows for customization of their packages.
We selected Ring’s Small Alarm and Indoor Camera Pack as the best system for DIY installation. The devices are easy to install with self-adhesive strips and detailed instruction videos. Installation takes about thirty minutes and can be done with adhesive strips or screws. Professional installation is also available for purchase through Amazon.
What’s in the package?
The Ring Alarm and Indoor Camera Pack includes five pieces of equipment that monitor the inside of your home. All devices are connected to the Base Station, which needs to be plugged in and connected to wifi. The pack includes a motion detector, contact sensor, keypad, and an indoor camera with full HD video quality, night vision, and two-way audio.
Our favorite part of the package is the range extender, which boosts the signal from the Base Station to reach components that are far away.
App and monitoring
The system works seamlessly with the Ring mobile app, allowing remote monitoring and control. The optional Ring Protect Plus subscription offers 24/7 Assisted Monitoring and sends alerts to emergency contacts if the alarm is triggered. The system also integrates with smart home ecosystems like Amazon Alexa and Amazon Echo.
Our verdict
The Ring Alarm system is a user-friendly and customizable option for homeowners looking to protect their property. With optional subscription services and additional devices, the system can be tailored to fit any household’s needs. While great for small properties, larger homes may benefit from purchasing a more extensive system from the start.
