A state-of-the-art tech company has introduced AI-powered home lighting that can detect intruders and bathe them in red light.
Anker Innovations Co., a Chinese electronics manufacturer, has unveiled its latest smart home products under its Eufy division.
Eufy, known for its home security equipment like cameras and sensors, has released permanent outdoor lights that change color based on whether visitors are friendly or not.
The Permanent Outdoor Lights E22 are compatible with Eufy’s motion-detecting video doorbells and cameras, some of which support facial recognition for trusted individuals.
If an unidentified visitor is detected, the lights can be programmed to shine a harsh red light. The lights can be controlled through Eufy’s Life App, allowing users to customize their lighting preferences for different occasions or moods.
The E22 models are available in sets of 30 lights (50 feet) or 60 lights (100 feet) and are an upgraded version of the existing E120 model still available on the Eufy website.
With guaranteed protection against water and dust, the lights have an IP65 rating, while the power adapter is IP67-rated for full protection against solid debris and water submersion.
In addition to integration with Eufy’s WonderLink system, the lights can also be paired with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.
Anker promises endless customization possibilities with the ability to set the lights to “16 million colors” with adjustable saturation.
While the lights may enhance your home, Eufy has faced criticism in the past for misleading claims about data storage. However, Anker has acknowledged its mistakes and pledged to improve its practices.
