King Charles is reportedly making his feelings known about Prince Andrew by removing the security team from his brother’s £30 million home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. The Duke of York is facing pressure from the King to move out and save money, but he has refused to leave the lavish property with 30 rooms, a pool, and 90 acres of land.
The decision to dismiss the ten security guards funded by Charles has sparked speculation that Andrew may be forced to relocate. This development is the latest in the ongoing saga dubbed the ‘siege of Royal Lodge.’
Former BBC royal reporter Michael Cole described the King’s move as radical and predicted that Andrew would be very unhappy about it. Charles has been trying to convince his brother to move to Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan, but legal obstacles make eviction difficult.
Despite the tensions, the King and Queen Camilla are set to host the extended Royal Family at Balmoral estate in Scotland, with Andrew and his daughters potentially joining them. The 64-year-old prince stepped back from royal duties in 2020 due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Charles had been funding Andrew’s security guards after armed police were withdrawn, but he is now unwilling to continue footing the bill indefinitely. With no visible means of income, Andrew faces financial challenges in maintaining Royal Lodge, prompting calls for him to downsize.
The Duke’s finances remain a mystery, with reports of settlements and property sales to cover debts. Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the situation, while plans for Royal Lodge’s future occupancy remain uncertain.
