Danny Masterson, known for his role in That 70’s Show, is set to be transferred to a new prison. The 42-year-old actor is currently being held at a California State Prison but will soon be moved to a maximum-security facility. Previously, he was moved from North Kern State Prison to Corcoran State Prison in California’s Central San Joaquin Valley. Initially, he was held at the LA County Men’s Central Jail. In September 2023, Masterson was found guilty of sexually assaulting two women around 20 years ago. He was sentenced in May 2023 and recently denied bail. He will be eligible for parole in 2042, facing a 30-year to life sentence. The Corcoran State Prison has housed notorious criminals like Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan. According to reports, Masterson will reside in a level 4 housing unit, which offers the highest level of protection in the maximum-security facility. Masterson’s wife, Bijou Phillips, recently left the Church of Scientology, of which Masterson was a long-time member. The case directly involved the Church since Masterson met the victims through his involvement. Phillips filed for divorce after the ruling, although she stood by his side during the trial. Her decision to leave the church was motivated by their daughter’s ability to maintain contact with Masterson. If she had stayed in the Church, co-parenting would have been challenging due to the Church’s requirement to sever ties with Masterson.
