Two security guards have been arrested by police officials in Hyderabad for allegedly beating a construction worker to death at a construction site in Banjara Hills on January 1. The accused guards, Anand Kumar Rai and Sanjeet Tiwari, have been placed in judicial remand. The incident came to light after Rajesh Kumar, a laborer at the construction site, filed a complaint with the Banjara Hills police, accusing the guards of assaulting and killing his uncle, Pankaj Kumar. According to Rajesh, on the evening of January 1, he, Pankaj, and three other laborers consumed alcohol. The security guards entered their room and assaulted them with sticks. Pankaj managed to escape temporarily but was later dragged out and beaten again. Despite intervention attempts by the contractor, Pankaj lost consciousness and was declared dead at the hospital. The police have filed a case and the security guards have been placed in judicial remand.
