Police were called to ITV studios in London after a security scare involving a young female worker. The incident occurred just days before the plot to kidnap and murder Holly Willoughby was exposed to the public. According to reports, a man allegedly followed the woman into a lift at This Morning studios, prompting her to shout for help. The incident took place just before Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was scheduled to go on air. Security bosses at the site, operated by BBC Studioworks, notified the authorities and an internal probe into the breach is underway. Staff have been reminded to wear their identification passes at all times. Lorraine Kelly was also expected to arrive at the studios shortly after the incident. ITV stated that the isolated incident was swiftly dealt with by security and that the safety of colleagues is of utmost importance. BBC Studioworks confirmed that steps have been taken to prevent a recurrence. It is suspected that Holly Willoughby will be taking some time away from This Morning following the ordeal. Security guard Gavin Plumb has been charged in connection with the plot and is set to appear in court on November 3.
